No. 13 Commodores Sweep Hocking College for Sixth OCCAC Win

October 2, 2022 - - The No. 13 Lorain County Community College volleyball team earned their eighth victory of the season with a straight sweep of the Hocking College Hawks this weekend, winning 25-18, 25-20, and 25-8.  With the win, LCCC improves to 8-4 overall and 6-2 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Chelsey Farris (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) led the Commodores in kills with 17, hit .571, and had three solo blocks.  Shawny Hess (Oberlin, Ohio/Firelands HS) had a team-high four blocks (two solos) and seven kills on a .333 hitting percentage.

Izabel Gallardo-Santo Domingo (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) had a team-high 19 digs.  Jordan Beware (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake HS) had 13 assists and a team-high three service aces.  Maggie Riley (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) had a team-high 22 assists with five digs.

Saturday's match was the first of seven home contests in October for the Commodores.  Their lone road match this month comes on October 15 against Hocking.

LCCC's next match is at home on October 5, 2022 against Terra State Community College.
