Schmitz Has Quadruple Double Against Community Christian in LCCC Win

February 2, 2026 - - The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team led from start to finish in an 84–50 victory over Community Christian College at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium Monday evening.

 

The Commodores set the tone early, opening the game on a 9–0 run and never looked back.  LCCC built a 22–9 advantage after the first quarter and extended the lead to 42–19 at halftime.  The lead continued to grow throughout the second half, reaching as many as 34 points in the fourth quarter.

 

Abbey Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) delivered a historic performance, recording the first quadruple-double of her career with 33 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists, and 10 steals.  She added three blocks in a dominant all-around effort.

 

BriAnna Slaughter (Lorain, Ohio/Brookside HS) added 19 points and five rebounds, while Chloe Meng (Elyria, Ohio/First Baptist Christian HS) contributed 18 points and nine rebounds, knocking down four 3-pointers.  Chelsey Lantsberry (Wakeman, Ohio/Vermilion HS) pulled down nine rebounds, and Abi Rhoades (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) added three assists.

 

Off the bench, Camrin Lowder (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) and Clara McCown (Oberlin, Ohio/Oberlin HS) each scored seven points, with McCown adding five rebounds.

 

As a team, LCCC scored 48 points in the paint, forced 29 turnovers, and converted those opportunities into 34 points. The Commodores also held advantages in fast-break points (12–2) and bench scoring (14–2) while finishing with 28 assists on 34 made field goals.
