Commodores Fall to Hawks in Hocking
January 14, 2026 - - The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team fell 80–49 at Hocking College on Wednesday evening in Nelsonville, Ohio.
LCCC was led by Abbey Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS), who recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 22 points and 13 rebounds while adding three assists and a block in 37 minutes of action. Chloe Meng (Elyria, Ohio/First Baptist Christian HS) provided a strong scoring effort with 11 points, connecting on three three-pointers, and added three rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Camrin Lowder (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) contributed eight points and five rebounds while drawing contact and converting 6-of-10 free throws. Abi Rhoades (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) added four points and five rebounds, while Chelsey Lantsberry (Wakeman, Ohio/Vermilion HS) chipped in two points, three rebounds, and a block.
Off the bench, BriAnna Slaughter (Lorain, Ohio/Brookside HS) scored two points and added a rebound.
LCCC opened the game with a 14–13 lead after the first quarter but the momentum fizzled as they were held to three points in the second quarter and Hocking was off to the races with a 23-point lead at the break.
