December 5, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team fell 77–70 to Henry Ford College on Friday night at the Ewing Activities Center, with the game decided in the fourth quarter after the Commodores pulled within one possession multiple times.
LCCC was led by Abbey Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS), who scored a game-high 29 points and added eight rebounds, five assists, and three steals while playing 32 minutes. Clara McCown (Oberlin, Ohio/Oberlin HS) recorded a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds, including nine offensive boards. BriAnna Slaughter (Lorain, Ohio/Brookside HS) added 11 points with two made threes and collected eight rebounds.
Off the bench, Chloe Meng (Elyria, Ohio/First Baptist Christian HS) scored 11 points with three three-pointers and four steals. Camrin Lowder (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) contributed five rebounds and two points in 17 minutes.
The Commodores finished with 44 points in the paint and held a 52–44 rebounding advantage, including 23 offensive rebounds. LCCC's defense produced 13 steals, and the team turned 21 Henry Ford turnovers into 21 points.
Henry Ford led 37–30 at halftime and held a 52–44 advantage entering the fourth. LCCC outscored the Hawks 26–25 in the final period, but Henry Ford maintained its lead to close out the seven-point decision.
