Women’s Basketball Falls To Cuyahoga Community College In OCCAC Opener
November 15, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team fell 88-33 to Cuyahoga Community College on Saturday afternoon in the opening contest in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play.
Clara McCown (Oberlin, Ohio/Oberlin HS) led LCCC on the glass with 11 rebounds while adding five points, three assists, and one block. Abbey Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) paced the offense with 12 points, including two three-pointers, along with seven rebounds, three assists, and one steal. Chloe Meng (Elyria, Ohio/First Baptist Christian School) added 10 points on an efficient 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc.
Chelsey Lantsberry (Wakeman, Ohio/Vermilion HS) contributed four points and five rebounds. Camrin Lowder (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) collected three rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Abi Rhoades (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) provided energy off the bench with six rebounds and two steals.
LCCC (0-4) matched Tri-C (6-0) with 43 total rebounds, including 29 on the defensive end.
