Commodore Invitational Returns to LCCC for First Time in Eight Years
September 8, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College Cross Country program will welcome back the Commodore Invitational on Friday, September 12, 2025, marking the first time the event has been held in eight years.
The race will begin at 4 p.m. on the Elyria course, with men and women competing together in a combined 5K event. The meet will not feature team scoring, but individual awards will be presented to the Top 5 men and Top 5 women following the conclusion of the race at approximately 5 p.m. Live results will also be available online after the finish.
The course consists of grass and trail surfaces with one hill, providing a true cross country test for competitors.
The event will be overseen by race administrators Jim Powers (Head Coach, LCCC), Vicki Guggenbiller (Assistant Coach, LCCC), and Eric Lahetta (Athletic Director, LCCC). Athletic training coverage will be provided near the finish line area.
