February 21, 2026 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team fell to Joliet Junior College, 103-80, in the NJCAA Sub-District Final at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.
LCCC was led by Dennis Pettis Jr. (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS), who scored 29 points on 10-of-26 shooting and added 11 rebounds. Ike Rowser (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) followed with 21 points, knocking down four three-pointers and converting 5-of-6 free throws. Julian Daniels (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) provided 9 points off the bench, while Aven Kielian (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) added 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Jayveon Roe (Euclid, Ohio/Villa Angela-St. Joseph HS) contributed seven points and seven rebounds, and Timothy Kikola (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) added two points in reserve action. Xavier Rivera (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS), Anthony Atkins (Cleveland, Ohio/Valley Forge HS), and Bryson Hicks (Elyria, Ohio/Midview HS) also saw action in the final game of their Commodore careers.
LCCC improved its offensive output in the second half, scoring 55 points after halftime and shooting 45 percent over the final 20 minutes. The Commodores finished with 36 rebounds, 11 assists, and 11 steals in the contest.
The Sub-District Final appearance capped the season for the Commodores, who advanced after claiming the NJCAA Region 12 Division III Championship earlier in the week against Owens Community College.
