January 7, 2026 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team dropped a 103–58 decision to Lakeland Community College on Wednesday night at the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium.
LCCC was led by Dennis Pettis Jr. (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS), who paced the Commodores with 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting while adding five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks in 28 minutes off the bench. Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Player of the Week Jayveon Roe (Villa Angela–St. Joe's HS) followed with 10 points and seven rebounds.
Aven Kielian (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) added nine points, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, and contributed three assists. Ike Rowser (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) finished with seven points and four rebounds, while Julian Daniels (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) chipped in five points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
LCCC received additional scoring from Raheem Whitfield-Tucker (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS), who hit two three-pointers on his way to six points. As a team, the Commodores were strong at the free-throw line, converting 12-of-15 attempts for 80 percent.
On the glass, Roe, Pettis, and Bryson Hicks (Elyria, Ohio/Midview HS) helped LCCC finish with 37 rebounds, including 15 on the offensive end, creating extra scoring opportunities throughout the night. The Commodores also got 27 points from the bench, led by Pettis and Whitfield-Tucker.
