LCCC Volleyball Holding First Practice of 2026 Season on August 3
July 17, 2026 - - Lorain County Community College students interested in joining the Commodore varsity volleyball team are invited to attend the team's first practice of the 2026 season at 6 p.m. on Monday, August 3, inside the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium.
To participate in volleyball at LCCC, students must have received a high school diploma and maintain at least 12 credit hours at LCCC as a full-time student.
LCCC is a member of the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division III Region 12.
The volleyball team is led by Head Coach Ted Whitsel, who enters his 13th season at the helm of the Commodores. Since taking over the program in 2014, Whitsel has guided LCCC to three NJCAA National Championship appearances and was named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2022.
