Volleyball Falls To Delta College In Region 12 Championship

October 28, 2025 – The Lorain County Community College volleyball team opened strong in the NJCAA Region 12 Division III Championship match, taking the first set 25-21, but Delta College regrouped to win three straight sets (25-21, 25-15, 25-21) and secure the regional title.

LCCC jumped out of the gate hot, taking a 10-3 lead early against the Pioneers in set one and using that momentum to capture a 25-21 victory in the opener.

Sophomore Gabriella Habeck (Huron, Ohio/Edison HS) led the Commodores with nine kills, eight digs, and two assists, capping off an impressive LCCC career that included multiple OCCAC honors, including several weekly awards and all-conference recognition last season. Fellow sophomore Gabbie Barrison (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) added two kills and a pair of blocks in her final match as a Commodore.

Freshman Madelyn Peters (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville HS) turned in a strong all-around performance with five kills, 14 assists, and five service aces, while Sydney Robinson (Oberlin, Ohio/Firelands HS) contributed seven kills and three total blocks. Ally Rumancik (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele HS) led the team in digs with 15 and added six service aces.

LCCC finishes the season with a 6-10 overall record.
