Recap
The Commodores came out firing on all cylinders, putting together a 7-1 run before the Lions (0-5) called a timeout. Knocking down 11 kills against just 2 errors, the Commodores hit an impressive .474 during the first game. They were assisted with four kills from Williams and three from Kylie Zocchi (Avon, Ohio/Avon HS).
Set two started off with a resounding block by Josie Filice (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood HS) and Todd to get the Commodore scoring going but the Lions fought back to tie the contest at 5-5. From there, LCCC put together a 6-1 run, aided in part to 10 errors committed by the Lions. A service ace from Todd and kills from Filice and Williams pushed the score to 11-6. After PSS crept closer, the Commodores used a 5-0 run and take a commanding lead before the Lions called a timeout. Zocchi capped off the set with an ace to give LCCC a 2-0 lead.
LCCC built an 8-2 lead thanks to some miscues by the Lions and kills by Todd and Williams. That lead would hold for much of the set until the Lions scored three straight points to cut the Commodore lead to 15-12. Gabbie Barrison (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview) would get a kill to quell the Penn State comeback and LCCC caught fire again to finish with 11 kills against just five errors to close out the match.
