October 6, 2022 - - The No. 12 Lorain County Community College volleyball team lost to Terra State Community College Wednesday evening in four sets. The Commodores came out the gate cruising with a win in the first game but from there it was all Titans (25-21, 12-25, 20-25, 14-25).
Leading in kills for the LCCC was Chelsey Farris (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) with 12. Farris also added four blocks to the stat sheet (one solo).
Izabel Gallardo-Santo Domingo (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) led the Commodores in digs with 13. The freshman also logged three assists and two service aces.
Jordan Benware (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake HS) collected her 10th match of double-digit assists with 12 and also had a team-high five aces. Also getting 10 digs was Maggie Riley (Elyria, Ohio/Midview HS). Shawny Hess (Oberlin, Ohio/Firelands HS) and Abbey Williams (North Ridgeville, Ohio/First Christian Baptist) both had four block assists.
With the loss, LCCC is now 8-5 on the year and 6-3 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play. They host Kent State Tuscarawas on Friday at 6 p.m. inside the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium.
