Women’s Basketball Falls to Jamestown Community College in Home Opener

November 13, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College women's basketball team (0–3) fell to Jamestown Community College 85–43 on Thursday evening inside the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium.  Jamestown improves to 5–1 on the season.

Abbey Schmitz (Amherst, Ohio/Firelands HS) led LCCC with 13 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals while shooting 7-of-10 from the free-throw line.  Clara McCown (Oberlin, Ohio/Oberlin HS) added seven points and a team-high seven rebounds to go along with one block and seven steals.

Freshman guard Tatyanna Hale (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) provided a spark off the bench, scoring nine points on 3-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc. Abi Rhoades (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion HS) contributed four points and six rebounds.

Chloe Meng (Elyria, Ohio/First Baptist Christian HS) finished with seven points, one rebound, and one assist, while Reina Ramos (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) added three points and two rebounds.

LCCC recorded 16 steals as a team and got 16 points from its bench unit.

LCCC travels to Cuyahoga Community College to take on the Triceratops on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Metro Gymnasium in their first Ohio Community College Athletic Conference matchup of the 2025–26 season.
