Winnen Takes Home OCCAC Player of the Week Honor For Fourth Time

February 12, 2025 - - For the fourth time this season, Lorain County Community College center Ally Winnen (Lorain, Ohio/Elyria Catholic HS) has been named the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week after delivering record-breaking performances in back-to-back games against Bryant & Stratton College and Clark State College.

This marks the fourth time in four different months (Nov. 4, Dec. 9, Jan. 6, Feb. 10) that the sophomore has won the weekly award from the OCCAC.

Winnen cemented her name in Commodore history on Wednesday against Bryant & Stratton College, pulling down her 344th rebound of the season to set a new LCCC single season rebounding record. She followed that historic milestone with another incredible feat, scoring her 507th point of the year to claim the school's single season scoring record.

Over the two-game stretch, Winnen showcased her dominance on both ends of the floor. Against Bryant & Stratton, she scored 33 points while shooting 52% from the field (13-of-25) and grabbed 29 rebounds, including 18 on the offensive glass—an LCCC single-game record. She also contributed three assists, one steal, and one block in the road matchup against the Bobcats.

Just three days later, Winnen was once again unstoppable against Clark State College, posting 32 points on an efficient 56% shooting (14-of-25) while securing 23 rebounds, nine of them on the offensive end.

Winnen currently leads the OCCAC in 11 different statistical categories, including points per game and rebounds per game.
