Men’s Cross County Finish Second at NJCAA Region 12 DIII Championships
October 24, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College men's cross country team raced at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 12 Division III Championships, finishing 11th overall out of 18 teams and second among Division III programs on Friday afternoon in Goodells, Michigan.
Leading the way for the Commodores was Franco Gallo (Avon, Ohio/Avon HS), who continued his outstanding freshman season with a 17th-place overall finish in a time of 26:44.81 over the 8K course.
Sophomore Brady Hurst (LaGrange, Ohio/Keystone HS) followed with a 54th-place finish in 29:20.5, while Tanner Sweene (Lorain, Ohio/Hearts for Jesus Christ) placed 69th in 30:27.6. Bailey Thacker (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville HS) and Jesse Collins (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) rounded out LCCC's scoring five with finishes of 75th (31:36.7) and 80th (32:05.2), respectively.
