Commodores Start Fast But Fade Against Henry Ford College In Season Opener

November 1, 2025 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team opened its 2025–26 season on the road Saturday afternoon, falling to Henry Ford College, 121–71.

LCCC held an early lead against the Hawks in the opening minutes before Henry Ford pulled ahead midway through the first half.

Jayveon Roe (Euclid, Ohio/Villa Angela-St. Joseph HS) led the Commodores with 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, adding five rebounds.  Isaiah Rowser (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) followed with 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists, knocking down four three-pointers.

Anthony Atkins (Cleveland, Ohio/Valley Forge HS) scored eight points and added five rebounds, while Tariel Llanos (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) contributed six points, six rebounds, and two steals.  Aven Kiliean (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) finished with three points, three rebounds, and a team-high four assists.

Off the bench, Raheem Whitfield-Tucker (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) added five points, Xavier Rivera (Lorain, Ohio/Lorain HS) hit a three-pointer, and Cameron May (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls HS) totaled five points and two rebounds.

The Commodores will battle the Hawks next Saturday at home inside the Ewing Activities Center Gymnasium for their 2025-26 home opener.  Tip off is at 1 p.m.
