Collin Zielinski Wins Week 7 Match To Finish 6-1 In The Fall; Valorant Tier 3 Picks Up Win In Final Week
November 15, 2024 - - The National Junior College Athletic Association Esports fall season is coming to a close. On Thursday evening, Lorain County Community College competed in Mario Kart and Valorant to solidify their spots in the playoffs which begin next week.
Mario Kart 8 – 1v1 – Best-of-Seven
Colin Zielinski (North Olmsted, Ohio/North Olmsted HS) won his Tier 3 Open Series match against Seward County Community College in five rounds to finish 6-1 in the fall.
Robert Rogers (Lorain, Ohio/Clearview HS) lost his week 7 match up against Danville Area Community College in six rounds. He finishes the season with a 10-3 record in Tier 1 Premiere Series play.
Valorant – 5v5 – Best-of-three
With the Tier 1 squad having the week off, the only Valorant team competing on Thursday was in Tier 3 competition. This team, made up of Justin Kozelka (Munson, Ohio/Ohio Virtual Academy), Cadence Buckles (Elyria, Ohio/LCCC Early College), Gilbert Chambers (Collins, Ohio/Edison HS), Brody Taylor (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville HS), and Braylon Zeman (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville HS) earned a 2-1 win against Western Technical College. Taylor had 45 kills while Cadence Buckles (Elyria, Ohio/LCCC Early College) had 16 assists.
