Bio

Brett “Mooch” Muché serves as the Bench Coach for the Lorain County Community College Commodores baseball program. Bringing more than 25 years of playing and coaching experience, he specializes in catching, corner infield, and hitting. On the field, Muche is known for his energy, passion, and deep knowledge of the game, while off the field he provides valuable leadership and mentorship to student-athletes. His responsibilities also include assisting with player development and in-game strategy.

Muché’s baseball journey began as a standout player at North Olmsted High School, where he was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. He went on to play collegiately at Tiffin University before signing professionally with the Newark Buffalo of the Frontier League and the North Dakota Rattlers of the Prairie League, where he played as a catcher and corner infielder. 

Following his playing days, Muché built an extensive coaching résumé, beginning with roles at Los Angeles High School and El Segundo High School before advancing to collegiate positions. He spent several seasons at Pierce College as both an assistant and head coach, gaining valuable experience leading a program. He later joined the University of Puget Sound as a volunteer assistant and worked with programs such as the IBU PBC Zips and Mid-Sound Krushers, continuing to develop players across various levels.

In addition to his high school and college coaching roles, Muché has been deeply involved in player development through respected baseball academies and travel organizations. He has instructed at Beach City Baseball Academy, San Diego Strikers Baseball Academy, and Big League Edge, where he specialized in hitting and catching. He has also worked with Force Ohio Baseball, San Diego State University as a volunteer assistant, and currently coaches with American Legion Post 365 Valkyrie. His ability to evaluate, recruit, and mentor athletes has helped numerous players advance in their baseball careers.

In January of 2026, Muché was named the Hitting Coach/Assistant Coach for the Frontier League's Lake Erie Crushers in Avon, Ohio.  

Muché holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University and completed teacher certification programs at Saint Martin’s College and National University. Beyond coaching, he has dedicated time to education, player mentoring, and community involvement.
