Cora Sanders

Cora Sanders (Elyria, Ohio/Elyria HS) is the SUBWAY MARKETPLACE Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 13-19, 2022.

Sanders scored the last five points for the Commodores in their 49-46 win against Malone University JV on Friday, November 18.  Sanders finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  It was her second game of the season scoring 20+ points.

With under a minute remaining and the Commodores trailing by a basket, Sanders drove into the paint and buried a floater to tie the game with 38 seconds left.  On LCCC’s next possession, Sanders drove into the lane, got bumped by a Malone defender, and dropped a layup in putting the Commodores up by two points.  She made the free throw and-1 to give LCCC the three point lead with 19 seconds remaining.
